Hard day for the little guy...

Here he is finally resting after a long day of testing and x-rays.

Well we just got back from the hospital and after talking with the Dr., here's what we know...
They were concerned there was some blockage in the intestines, or maybe that the muscles in the intestines weren't working. They put some dye in Luke's stomach so they could see it's progress through his intestines. This is done by having to take an x-ray every 30 minutes to an hour. While we were there the Dr. was able to show us those x-rays. Praise God there were no obstructions, as far as they can tell, everything is working as it should! The x-rays did show a considerable amount of air in his stomach, which they have been working at removing. They have him on I.V. fluids and antibiotics in case of infection(get blood work back in 48 hours), hopefully we can get back to feedings tomorrow night or Saturday. They are going to take one more x-ray in the morning just to be sure, and to make sure the dye has left his system. Right now it seems to be a case of reflux, which is pretty common in babies his size. And as we've heard a hundred times...this just takes time.
Again, we are so grateful for your prayers during this time, what a mighty God we serve!

  1. Oh man it is killing me right now to be in KC and not Wichita. We are continually thinking of and praying for Luke and all of you. We love you and wish there was more we could "do" than just send the love. We are believing for great things for Luke and can't wait to see the perfect timing from the Lord.
