Today was bittersweet in some ways. Tyler had his B-Day party at Chuck E Cheese with some of the family. He had a great time and loved all of his gifts! Thankfully it was chaotic enough at the Cheese that he only asked once why Mommy couldn't be there. Though it was hard for her not to go, it did give her some good baby/Mommy time in the NICU.
She has tried twice to feed him now, but he is more interested in sleeping than eating...which is ok for right now.
Also, as I type this, I am doing it from home! Sara's Blood Pressure finally stabilized enough over the past 24 hours that they let us come home. She will be on some BP meds for the next couple of weeks, but it shouldn't be anything long term. Tyler and Emma were excited to see Mom to say the least.
Looks like Luke will be in the NICU at least until the middle of next week. He is doing great. He weighed in at 1747grams today (the magic number is 1800 to get out of NICU). He is also doing good at regulating his own heat, another must before he is released.
I believe that is it for today. The next week or so will be a lot of trips back and forth to the hospital. The main prayer request we have right now is that he would start to nurse. Again, thank you all so much for the gifts, flowers, prayers and letters, they mean so much to Sara and me. Until we update again...

ReplyDeletegot an letter from the church about Luke. I was a few days behind since I was without internet for a few days. Sara I have been praying for you and thinking about you. Luke looks so good! He looks like Andrew. We are happy that you are doing better Sara and that Luke is progressing so wonderfully. We will continue to pray for you all. Happy Birthday Tyler ! We send our love.

Another week would be amazing! I remember having to do the weigh in's with the nurses and waiting for a magic number. Hang in there.
